How it all started

Nearly two years ago, I was fat. I didn't want to hear it from others and was lying to myself, thinking it was not that bad. I used to wear dresses over leggings to cover the worst. I love to cook, and I coudn't imagine not being able to eat "tasty" food such as pizza, burgers, chips and potatoes. I created my own bubble in which I pretended everything was fine.

The first six months

I started the low-carbohydrate diet in July 2022. I never wanted to count calories or start eating low-fat products, as most people do. The low-carbohydrate approach sounded good, as I could keep eating many of my favourite meals with some adjustments.

In May 2023, 10 months since I changed my lifestyle, I started feeling good about myself. It takes at least 9 months to completely break our old habits, and at this time, I fully grasped what changing the lifestyle means. I no longer wanted to go back to eating potatoes. I wanted to keep eating low-carbohydrate food for good.

Three sizes down and still losing weight

In the last 19 months, I have managed to lose 28.5 kg. The last 8.5kg was very difficult to lose as I worked under a lot of pressure, including working full-time, finishing my health coaching course, and seeing my case study clients weekly.
